Creamy Japanese Style Sesame Dressing

I LOVE THIS!! I had a friend to come and stay some years ago who introduced me to this dressing after spending time in Japan! I bought this dressing for years from the supermarket, however we have to be careful with the labelling as unless we use google translate, it’s hard to decipher what’s actually IN the dressing! As a result, I sat and dreamt up a way to have my favourite creamy sesame dressing, while controlling the ingredients and the calories!

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 – 4 tablespoons tamari (or soy sauce) depending on how you like it
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or your preferred sweetener
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
Put all ingredients in a blender and whizz till combined!
